It’s a classic Bear Mountain vibe on the snow today. Cheers roared from the lift line this morning for first chair. The snow is good, the sky is clear, and the DJ’s out on the deck pumpin out some jams. “Everyone’s just excited to be on the snow and riding” says Clayton Shoemaker. There are 9 terrain park features on the hill right now and we expect to have more than a dozen by tomorrow. Be sure to head up early in the morning and take advantage of great early season riding and skiing. Ticket windows open at 8 and lifts open at 8:30am.

An unusually early cold snap allowed Bear Mountain to make snow over the last several nights and prepare for one of the earliest openings ever. At 9:30 a.m. on Friday morning, the first chair was loaded and Bear Mountain is now officially open for the 2009/10 season. It’s time to dust off you board or your skies and get to Big Bear.
