Thursday’s Outlook
Snow Summit and Bear Mountain Day Session and Half-Day Session tickets are sold out for this afternoon; however Snow Summit Night Session tickets are still available.
Today is going to be a chilly one; so be sure to dress warm. The sun will be with us though, so it still will be an awesome day a Bear Mtn. Yesterday, we received 4-7 inches of fresh snow, leaving our base at 18-28 inches. The surface is machine groomed packed powder and the coverage is excellent! All the new white stuff is giving park staff overtime; we’re up to 80+ features now, so be sure to keep your eyes out for cool, new snow features.
We recommend using Hwy 38- (through Redlands) or Hwy 18 (the back way through Lucerne Valley). HWY 18 thru Lucerne and HWY 38 thru Redlands are OPEN with NO chain requirements.
Hwy 330 is closed below Running Springs. There is a detour through Lake Arrowhead however this route is much longer and not recommended, no chains required.
All vehicles must always carry chains when traveling in the mountains during winter months.
