There are three open roads to Big Bear. Hwy 18 the back way through Lucerne is OPEN with no chains required. Hwy 18 from Waterman through Lake Arrowhead and Hwy 38 through Redlands are open; chains are required on all vehicles except 4WD and AWD with snow tires. Although it may take a little extra time getting here, the conditions are well worth the drive.
