Happy weekend! Welcome to The People’s Park. We made snow all night long and the snow coverage is great. Today we are going to give you a high of 51 and blue skies; enjoy : )

Power 106 FM will be the fuel to your fire today, playing all your favorite hip hop tracks and getting you amped up for the day. Next time Power 106 comes back (February 11th), they will be bringing up Mac Miller!

We also have another night session tonight over at our sister mountain, Snow Summit. The session starts at 3pm and all season passes, including Bear Mountain Only passes, are good for all night sessions. View this Night Session Video.

Friday’s Park Report

Happy Friday! We have KROQ on the deck this afternoon spicing up your Friday fun. With a forecast of 46 and sunny, it looks like it’s going to be a nice day for some Apre Ski action on the deck. Be sure to get some good riding in first though; there is a lot going on here with many different parks to check out. Start the day off on Chair 6 with some warm-up features in the Skill Builder Par and cruise over to Central Park, where we have the Superpipe, Halfpipe, a bunch of jibs, and some fun jumps. Then, check out the main event; Park Run and the Red Bull Plaza off of Chair 9 which is our longest park run with endless terrain features.

Have fun out there! Night session at Snow Summit tonight from 3-9:30pm. Westridge gets a fresh evening groom during night session too. The party continues tomorrow with Power 106 fm taking over the DJ booth.

Volcom Comp Today

Some light snowfall is likely later this afternoon and our high is 39 degrees.

Today we have the Volcom Peanut Butter and Rail Jam. Registration is at 8am in the Board Room and the contest will start shortly after. Whether your competing or just riding today, take a few minutes to check the event out. There will be a lot of little kids out ripping it up and big kids blowing minds.

After the comp, head over to Snow Summit for holiday night session from 3:00pm-9:30pm. All season passes including Bear Only passes and non-holiday passes are good for night session, so make sure to get over there and check out Westridge under the lights.

Volcom PB and J this SUNDAY

Big comp this weekend! The Volcom Peanut Butter and Rail Jam is strolling through town this Sunday. This is always a well produced contest because Volcom does it right. Our crew always kills it with the set-up as well. The big news is that the top 5 finalist get to go to the Volcom Peanut Butter and Rail Jam finals and compete for $20,000 in prizes. If heading up to Bear Mountain this weekend, make sure to check out Volcom’s Peanut Butter Rail Jam on Sunday the 15th. You can still enter here and some spots will be available the morning of the event. Registration is at 8am sharp.

Saturday Power 106 will be playing on the sundeck then the Winter Concert Series will be in the Board Room from 3pm to 7pm with Curious Primate.

Sunday at The People’s Park

Temps cool down a little bit today bringing us a high of 43 degrees. We had a great night of snowmaking and we expect to make even more tonight.

The park is still killing it. Last week’s warm weather didn’t even slow us down, we’ve been getting new hits and new features every day including The Superpipe! Director of Park Development, Clayton Shoemaker, is planning on making even more changes this coming week; so there will be plenty to look forward to.

If you are wondering how it is you would be able to hit all these new features, check out Freestyle Camp at Bear Mountain. Here you will learn everything you need to know about park riding. After a couple sessions at the camp, you won’t be riding past features anymore, you’ll be blasting off them all!

We know all you shredders just got done with Analog’s Design Unlikely Features contest yesterday, but save the date for next Sunday, Jan. 15th because we have the Volcom Peanut Butter and Rail Jam making their annual stop. Analog Design Unlikely Features

The Analog Design Unlikely Features contest is today! Registration starts at 8am in the Board Room and the comp will start around 10:30/11. This is a free contest; you just need your lift ticket or season pass. Be sure to check out Analog’s Mikkel Bang who came all the way out here to watch you guys shred the new feature.

Today is going to be sunny with a high of 55. When your not checking out the comp, be sure to check out the Superpipe; open as of yesterday. There are also a bunch of new changes to Park Run that you’ll see today while you’re out riding.

Superpipe Now Open

The Superpipe is now open! This is the earliest opening in years for our dear Superpipe; thanks to some pre season love from mother nature and of course Tex the pipe cutter. The best time to ride the pipe is right after it is cut, so hurry up and check it out!

We enjoyed the warm sunny skies the last couple of weeks but now temps are dropping back down to the 50′s and we love that too. The snow is in great shape.

What’s New at The People’s Park

Text book Bear day today; bluebird! We’re at well over 100 features and new ones are popping up on the regular. The flow and vibe have been on point due to the mass options of lines. Everyone has their favorite feature but it’s linking them all together that makes this place fun. In a few days, we will have the Superpipe ready for you guys; so you can start looking forward to that.
