Hot Dawgz and Hand Rails is just around the corner and admission is FREE! The guys at our jib factory have been working hard all summer and will have an extreme new set up for HDHR 2010, and Red Bull will be offering up $$$ for best trick on the Red Bull feature. There will be plenty of giveaways at vendor booth city, and Bear Mountain’s “Paint It Red” and The People’s “Cheers” will premier just after sundown. Pick up your copy of Bear’s new movie at Hot Dawgz and Hand Rails September 18^th and be sure to arrive early to get in on the season pass sale!

Closed For The 2009-2010 Winter

Snow Summit and Bear Mountain are officially closed for the 2009-2010 ski and snowboard season and will not reopen for the weekend. Winter may be over but the summer activities and events that bring Big Bear Mountain Resorts to life in the summer are just around the corner. You can look forward to the Snow Summit Scenic Sky Chair, golf, hiking, and mountain biking! The Bear Mountain Golf Course and Driving Range are expected to open May 21st. Range tokens and Golf season passes will be available at the Pro Shop. Tee times will be available for scheduling, as we get closer to our opening date. The Snow Summit Scenic Sky Chair will be open for the AMGEN Tour of California’s mountaintop finish on May 21st and will be open weekend’s only beginning May 22nd, then daily beginning June 19th. 2010/2011 Screamin’ Deal Season Passes are on Sale through May 31st! This season pass may be used for the Snow Summit Scenic Sky Chair.

Arbor Team Shoot In Ego Trip

The Arbor Snowboard team just wrapped up a photo and film shoot at Bear Mountain and Snow Summit. They spent much of their time shooting in the Ego Trip Super Park at Snow Summit. Don’t miss your chance to shred the park the pros are riding. Look for a special edition Parkisode #8 featuring Arbor team riders Danny Thomas, Joe Bosler, Patrick Reddy, Moss Halladay, Andrew “Tres” Green, and Forrest Schmidt coming your way in the next few days. HDHR Qualifier Results

We just wrapped up the HDHR qualifiers about an hour ago. We had a solid turnout of hungry shreds looking to make their way to Hot Dawgs in September. Last year’s winner and local kid Ian Sams showed back up and was able to walk away with third. All the way from the east coast, brothers Dylan and Alex Hereford, came, conquered, and walked away with 1st and 2nd. Dylan was the lucky one taking the gold and getting his free 2010/2011 Bear Mountain season pass. We’re definitely stoked on the three we’re sending to Hot Dawgs this fall; and look forward to seeing these kids represent.

Today is the day! All season you have been working hard in stomping those skills, skeezing it out, and bringing your own flava to it. Now its time to show the crowd and judges you have what it takes to represent. The top three competitors will advance to the coveted Hot Dawgs & Hand Rails later this fall and compete among the industry’s best shreds. So do you have what it takes? But no worries spectators, the HD&HR qualifier going down today is only a small taste of the craziness that goes on later this fall. Its sure to be a dope time on the Bear sun deck with DJ Slipmatt and DJ C-Low bumping it all afternoon. In addition we’ll be giving some sick Bear Schwag out, so come up to hang, watch some action go down, enjoy some drinks and SoCal sunshine.

Bear Mountain and Snow Summit offer guests the most open runs and lifts in Southern California! Enjoy excellent spring skiing and riding on 100% open terrain!

Fun for the Weekend

As in typical Bear Mtn style, we’re planning for another fun-filled weekend on the mountain. It’s that time of year when we’re winding down the season and amping up the fun. Today, we have KCXX 103.9 rocking out on the deck all day long! We’ll be drinking and jamming up a storm; come grab a beer and join us! Tomorrow, well, you should already know about tomorrow or my job is pointless. For you space cadets out there, tomorrow is the HDHR qualifier contest on Conner McCracken’s scene from the “Design the Scene” contest. We’re going to be sending the three top shreds to the ever so coveted HDHR contest in September. If your entering the contest, make sure you’re there by 10 and check in at the boardroom. We’re going to have DJ Slipmatt, DJ C-Low, and KROQ loosening you all up and making you get down. Hate to have all this fun with out you; actually it won’t even be as fun with out you; don’t leave us hanging!

HDHR Qualifier Jam Saturday, April 10th!

I know I told you guys about this a couple days ago, but I got all the juicy details for you now. We already know it’s going to be a lot of fun and it’s this Saturday in the Scene on Conner McCracken’s design; but how much is it? Here’s where you luck out; it’s only $1,000 to enter! Nah, just kidding, of course it’s FREE, but you do need a lift ticket or your season pass. Registration will be from 10:00am to 11:45 in the Boardroom and you MUST be at least 18 to register and enter the contest. The jam will go from 12:00 to 2:00. That gives you 2 hours to strut your stuff and earn your way to HDHR in September. Top THREE shredders will get their invite and the first place winner will get a FREE 2010/2011 season pass! DJ Slipmaat and DJ C-Low are going to be mixing up the event all day on the deck with plenty of good music and plenty of Bear Mountain giveaways. Sounds like another party in Big Bear; can’t wait to see you all up here for this one!

Hot Dawgs and Handrails Qualifier

This Saturday, April 10, we are going to be hosting the Hot Dogs and Handrails Qualifier contest in the Scene. This is a BIG, BIG deal for all you shred heads out there. The winner of this contest gets an invite to the ever so coveted HDHR in September. There is a lot of money and exposure handed out during the real deal, so make sure you bring your A game this Saturday. The contest is going to be held in the Scene on Conner McCracken’s design from the “Design the Scene” contest. Looking at the pictures, it is going to be such a sick set-up. You’ll have to get creative; but isn’t that what snowboarding’s all about?
