8 to 12 Inches of New Snow Expected

USASA started the day at Powder Bowl for the Boardercross competition. People came from all over to compete today, a few from Mammoth, some from Tahoe, LA, OC, and our surrounding areas. KPWR hosted the annual “Snowed In” event on the deck with Flo Rida and winner of American Idol, Jordin Sparks. The weather decided to cooperate and waited until the event was over, to really start snowing. According to the National Weather Service, snow will become heavier and steadier overnight we’re expecting new snow accumulation of 8 to 12 inches or more above 6000 feet. If you’re savvy, you []

There Is A Storm In Today’s Forecast- And Lots Of Fun…

The Weather Service has reassessed overnight and we are now looking at predictions of snow starting this afternoon and snowing through Tuesday with accumulations of 3 to 7 inches in the base area and more on the summits. So… It’s on its way, what to do today? The destination for this weekend is the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. It’s the same stadium where the Rose Bowl game is traditionally played on New Year’s Day. Thousands piled into the stadium yesterday as the Air + Style (A+S) event made its debut in the US. 16 of the world’s greatest snowboarder competed []

Good thing we are in Big Bear, it’s different here. One huge difference is the water supply. Water is one of the main ingredients in real snow and []

Air + Style: DAY ONE

The 21st annual Air and Style Event stars today at the Pasadena Rose Bowl. There will be two nights of competition and music with 18 bands including acts like Kendrick Lamar, Steve Aoki, Diplo, The Flaming Lips and more. You can see the full line up of athletes and musicians on the Air and Style (http://www.air-style.com/en/) web-site. In addition to all that, attendees will receive a lift ticket to Bear Mountain. Our Park Staff crew has been working hard to cover the 16 story ramp with man made snow, and we are very excited to watch the Big Air competition []

Join us on Sunday for the Snowed In Concert

On Sunday Power 106 will be here and they are hosting their annual party starting at 10am. Musical guest’s Flo-Rida, Jordin Sparks & Liane V start their magic at noon. This one time you will want to get “Snowed In”. The concert is FREE to all ticket holders, so take advantage of a day on the deck. We have more open terrain than any other SoCal resort that is still open. Why have we been able to stay open while others have had to close? Well that’s all thanks to our World Class Snow Making System, our tireless snow makers and []
