Excellent Snow Coverage

The holidays came to Bear Mountain a little early this year. We received 12-16 inches of fresh snow over the weekend and are looking at sunny skies again today. We now have excellent snow coverage, nearly 100% of the mountain open, the best snow conditions around, and 115 park features for all levels.

We’re off to an amazing start this season! We’re expecting clear and sunny skies for the rest of the week, so things should get even better for the holidays.

Snow for the Holidays!

The snow has been stacking up like crazy up here in the mountains. We received several inches of new snow last week, well over a foot in the past 48 hrs, and it’s still snowing right now. It’s been an amazing start to the season and the holidays are going to be supreme. With these snow conditions and nearly 100% of the mountain being open, you don’t have travel far this holiday season. Enjoy some of the best conditions in the country right here in your back yard.

Chuck Brings Us Snow!

Chuck Allen was an industry legend who passed away last year. He had a huge impact in snowboarding and paved the way for what we do today. To celebrate Chuck Allen’s life we’ll be taking a lap together and continuing our Annual Memorial Snake Run in his honor because we think he would have loved that. Around one o’clock, we’ll rally up everyone at Bear Mountain who wants to participate, head up Chair 5, and all ride down together. Power 106 will be playing on the deck and we’ll have a raffle with great prizes. We all share this love of snowboarding and what better way to express it.

To ice off the cake, 6 to 8 inches of new snow today and it’s still snowing, and 6 to 8 inches of fresh powder yesterday! The best snow around is right here in Big Bear. We have nearly 100% runs open so have fun and enjoy the fresh powder.

More Fresh Snow Today

Our resorts have had several inches of fresh snow this week and it snowed another 2 inches last night and more light snowfall is in today’s forecast. Come enjoy the best snow conditions this holiday season right here in your back yard! Bear and Summit now have 25 lifts available, nearly every run open and 150 park features! After a good long day at Bear hit Westridge at Snow Summit for night session tonight from 3pm-9:30pm. They do a fresh evening groom too!

Good day to all! A couple inches of new snow greets us this morning and we have the best snow conditions around! An action packed weekend is ahead of us, and it starts now! Chair 8 accessing Geronimo opens up today, making the resort nearly 100% open. We also have been undergoing some serious park work; if you were here yesterday, you already saw the two picture perfect jumps on Lower Park Run and if not then you are in for a real treat : ) There are plenty of Skill Builder features scattered across the resort; so be sure to check out the entire mountain for fun stuff.

Night session at Snow Summit tonight and Saturday night and all season passes are accepted beginning at 3pm. Westridge opens up today, so you know tonight will be fun. Starting tomorrow, we introduce Bear Camp. This is for anyone looking for park instruction. If you already have the basics, but you want to learn the freestlye part of snowboarding, then Bear Camp is for you. Click here for details!

Switchfoot will be here tomorrow at 3pm on the deck and All Marbles will be jamming in the Board Room from 3-7pm.

Terrain Park Update

We are on the path to possibly our best season of all time! The park is already starting to surpass our years past set-ups, and it’s only the beginning of December. There are jibs, jumps, rails, boxes and so much more spread across the entire mountain with something for everyone. You definitely have to try out the Skill Builder features over on Chair 6 where we have a bunch of beginner boxes, rollers and jumps that are perfect for anyone looking to learn the basics of freestyle snowboarding. For those of you who already have the basics, Chair 9 is overflowing with terrain features. This is our winter! while most resorts are struggling to get things going, we are thriving and expect to have nearly 100% of both resorts open by the weekend. Hope you got your season pass this year. Saturday’s at the Boardroom

So we already told you about 98.7 featuring Switchfoot this Saturday at 3:00pm on the deck. Hope you saved the date like we told you to ; ). That’s not all though. Every Saturday of the season, Bear will be hosting “Saturday’s at the Boardroom.” From 3pm-7pm there will be live music in the Boardroom (right inside from the Beach Bar) with different bands headlining every weekend. There will also be appetizers, cheap food, and plenty of drinks for everyone! This Saturday 12/17, we will be featuring a band called All Marbles.

There’s so much going on here that you would have to be crazy not to come this weekend; and with all this new snow, all these terrain features, and all these runs, there is more than enough to celebrate!

4″ Fresh Snow

Yesterday’s snowfall totals reach 4 inches and there’s a chance of a couple more inches of new snow in today’s forecast. The packed powder/powder conditions are making for good fun! Bear currently has 50 jibs, 37 snow features, and a standard halfpipe. Skill Builder features are on Amusement Park, Learning Curve, and Easy Street, and there are more park features all over Hidden Valley, Central Park, and Park Run. More Runs Open Today

Welcome to the best snow in Southern California! Our last storm left us with 14-16 inches of fresh snow and excellent snowmaking conditions. We got so much snow that we can open more runs today! Chair 5/Central Park and Chair 6 accessing Easy Street and Learning Curve for beginners are open today with amazing packed powder conditions. The Jib Pipe on Chair 5 is open and ready for jibbing! You will also find some changes on Chair 9/Park Run with many more to come over these next few days. It’s going to be a sunny SoCal day with a high of 29 and the cool temps will keep the snow powdery all day long. Don’t have too much fun today, we still have the entire season ahead of us ; )

14-16 Inches Of Fresh Powder

Yesterday’s storm sat over us all day yesterday and all night long too leaving a total of 14-16 inches of new snow! On top of all of that, we have been making snow around the clock. Both Bear Mountain and Snow Summit expect to open more runs for the weekend and more jibs installations are in the works. Come on up and enjoy the packed powder snow conditions.
