Good Morning- It Snowed!!!

New Year’s Eve Vitals Happy New Year’s Eve, Bear fans! We got 7-8″ in of snow over night. For Road Conditions please check here. Today there are 11 chairs servicing 17 runs and 76 features to ride. Pick up your tickets and rentals at 7:30 and the first chairs start at 8:00. Don’t forget about tonight’s Bear NYE Party! After the Torchlight Parade at Summit, head back to Bear for the party.

The Fun Continues Tomorrow…

We had a blast today making some turns!  We were able to reopen Chair 9 for top to bottom terrain due to the almost foot of the fresh natural snow we received yesterday and also thanks to our world class snowmaking system! Tomorrow is on point to open more terrain as we have already kicked on the snow guns now that the temperatures are dropping! Tomorrow we will have beginner terrain as we plan to open Chair 7 and that also means that we will be starting to host lessons here at our resort! It’s looking like this cold weather []

The Freshies have arrived

We are back, baby! Our base is back to 10-20″ of machine-groomed packed powder. We got 8-11″ fresh snow yesterday and have been making snow since last night. We even got 15 features built. You won’t find better conditions anywhere else in SoCal. Bear is now open for daily operations. Tomorrow we will be running Chairs 1, 9, AND 7. Keep an eye on our Facebook for updates. Our snowmakers are working their butts off to get more runs open and features built as fast as possible. We will also be running lessons tomorrow. CalTrans is reporting that chains are []

Bear Mountain to Open Saturday With the Forecast Calling for a Significant Storm!!!

Bear Mountain expects to open for daily operation this Saturday, December 13th at 8:30 am. Local forecasters are calling for clouds to move in late in the day on Thursday, with a chance of showers overnight before a front moves through Friday morning and drops snow levels down to 6,000 feet! As we open Saturday, with Chair 1 spinning at 8:30 am,  it looks like we should find a few left over snow showers giving way to clearing skies and the cooler, drier weather we love to make snow in! With the new snowfall and a night of snow making []

It’s cool as ever at Bear Mountain

Those strong, hot winds you might be feeling? Not here! Bear Mountain has been downright frigid. Before the Santa Ana winds heat up the LA and Orange County areas, they start as cold air in the mountains. The cool dry air is perfect for snowmaking and we’re busy taking advantage of these great conditions. We’ve been grinding out fresh snow since last night and we are still planning to open Chair 1 on Friday. What better way to beat the turkey hangover than a weekend of snowboarding? Since you’re so stoked about all our fresh snow, we have special discounted rates []
