We are back, baby! Our base is back to 10-20″ of machine-groomed packed powder. We got 8-11″ fresh snow yesterday and have been making snow since last night. We even got 15 features built. You won’t find better conditions anywhere else in SoCal. Bear is now open for daily operations. Tomorrow we will be running Chairs 1, 9, AND 7. Keep an eye on our Facebook for updates. Bear Mountain expects to open for daily operation this Saturday, December 13th at 8:30 am. Local forecasters are calling for clouds to move in late in the day on Thursday, with a chance of showers overnight before a front moves through Friday morning and drops snow levels down to 6,000 feet! Before the Santa Ana winds heat up the LA and Orange County areas, they start as cold air in the mountains. We have received 8″ to 10″ of fresh snow over night and it’s still coming down! This is the best storm we’ve had all season. It may take a little extra time traveling to the mountains today but it will be more than worth it! Don’t forget your tire chains, they are required on all vehicles except those with 4wd and awd with snow tires on highways 18 and 38. The temperatures shifted and it has officially started to DUMP snow! With the forecast calling for “heavy” snow throughout the night we can say with confidence that this very well could be the biggest storm of the season!
