We’ve got a big weekend coming up, starting with night session at Snow Summit Friday night. Westridge is currently undergoing top-to-bottom park setup and we expect it to be open by tomorrow. Remember that your Bear only passes are good at Snow Summit beginning at 3pm for night session. Saturday is Analog’s Go Huck Yourself. Registration is from 2-3pm and entry is free. Afterwards join us on the deck for 98.7 featuring Switchfoot! There’s so much going on this weekend, it’s gonna be a blast!

Also new this weekend is Bear Camp at the Park, all-day park and pipe lessons for skilled beginner, intermediate or advanced park riders. Camp will be offered Saturdays and Sundays all season long. If want to learn how to ride onto your first flat box, air your first halfpipe wall, or master the 540, then this camp is for you! Learn to Snowboard or Ski

How do I do this you ask? Well, the first thing that you have to get out of your head is that snowboarding and skiing are hard. It’s not; and the confidence of knowing you can do it will take you a long way. The more you get out there and just ride, the easier everything feels. You go from thinking about every little move, to letting everything just happen naturally. Granted it takes a few steps to get to this point, but that is why we are here. We offer various lessons from some of the best instructors in the world and we have the largest beginner area in Southern California, so if there is one place to get started, it’s Bear Mountain. As soon as you get your basics down, we have another little treat for you. Last season, we added the Skill Builder Parks, making terrain park riding accessible to nearly anyone. So come on up because now is the time to learn. All you have to do is try it once; after that you will be hooked!

With sunny skies and a high of 59 it’s gonna be a classic Bear Mountain day; ridin’ in a hoodie under the So Cal sun with more features than you know what to do with….that’s how Bear rolls. We have features for all level riders, from the Skill Builder parks all the way up to the Analog stair set feature. So if your just starting to hit boxes or are a seasoned vet, Bear has you covered for all your shredding needs.

January Is Learn A Snow Sport Month

In partnership with the National Ski Areas Association (NSAA), Snow Summit and Bear Mountain are offering FREE rentals (up to $30 savings) throughout the month of January, to first time beginners ages 8 and older who purchase a beginner lesson package. With FREE Rentals you now have more room to pack up your friends and come skiing and snowboarding! Lesson packages begin at $59. Learn to ski or ride at Southern California’s Learning Headquarters. Reservations available online only. Bear Mountain offers special lesson packages for groups of 15 and more that would like to take a part in this national event. May not be used in conjunction with any other coupons or discounts.

Between Bear Mountain and Snow Summit, there are 21 available lifts and 80 percent of the runs currently open. Chair 4 opens today at Bear Mountain accessing Exhibition run and Chair 6 opens accessing Easy Street. Amusement Park tops it all off with park features from our new Skill Builder’s collection and a minipipe. Stay tuned for a full park feature count.

New Hip Hits For Your Boosting Pleasure

That’s right, Powder Bowl’s legendary hips are back! Park Staff dialed in two nice size hips last night with a solid roller in between so you can send the second one as big as the first. For all you shreds out there hips are a good way to step your jump game by getting comfortable going faster and getting higher. Here at Bear we have features for the pros all way to the most novice park riders.So come take advantage of all Bear Mountain has to offer from the Skill Builder Park to the Powder Bowl Hips.

We take great pride in ensuring your trip to Bear Mountain is a trip to remember. Whether you’re with the family, your buddies, or out on a hot date, we want you to be nothing but smiles while you’re with us. Some of you may have been drooling over the new Park Run set-up, while others of you may have been hanging out on chair 5. You don’t have to be a pro to enjoy Bear to its fullest potential. It is our goal to get you in the park and riding with the best of them. The masterminds of park staff have developed The Skill Builder Park to ease the learning process of park riding. Later in the season, Learning Curve and Amusement Park will be dedicated to beginner park riding and designed for the most novice of riders. Currently, we are testing out these features in Central Park. Whether you have never done a slide or hit a jump in your life, or maybe you’re looking to do your first 360, the Skill Builder features will be your new best friends. We were really excited to get this going so we had to throw some features up on Central Park for now. As snowmaking moves to the east side of the mountain, so will the park.

Ride The Park AND Ego Trip

Both Mountains are 100% open today with excellent spring conditions! Due to business winding down, Bear Mountain will not operate midweek but will be open on weekends! The snow coverage is still really good with plenty of jibs and snow features to look forward to. With several inches of new snow predicted for tomorrow and below average temperatures this week, the snow conditions at Summit will be excellent. Snow Summit will be open through at least April 18th and possibly longer with 100% open terrain. Check out where it all started 20 years ago and head over to Ego Trip SuperPark!
