The first day of War of Rails kicked off with some heavy snowfall and even heavier skiing. Competitors tackled the elements and went on with the contest as if it were a normal sunny day. The course is huge but speed was not an issue and every person in today’s qualifier went all out to try and lock themselves into tomorrow’s final. We have received 8″ to 10″ of fresh snow over night and it’s still coming down! This is the best storm we’ve had all season. It may take a little extra time traveling to the mountains today but it will be more than worth it! Don’t forget your tire chains, they are required on all vehicles except those with 4wd and awd with snow tires on highways 18 and 38.
