Another Amazing Day

Yesterday was incredible, and today is more of the same! Sunny blue skies, warmer temperatures and all the snow you can handle. The mountain is in such good shape. El Nino has sure set up Bear for many more long weeks of fun riding but don’t wait to get in that well deserved time on the hill, get up here today while the weather is still amazing! Friday night sessions at Snow Summit are over for the season but you still have one last night to ride Westridge under the lights tomorrow night from 3pm to 9:30pm. Saturday March 13th is Snow Summit’s last night session of this winter season and college students get $10 off their night session ticket.

O.K, are you ready? Tomorrow is a going to be a doozey of a day up here at Bear Mountain. We got a full schedule of events, and a lot of fun to be had! First off, the War of the Rails competition that we’ve been telling you about for months starts tomorrow. Bear team rider Craig Coker is going to be hosting the event, so you know it’s going to be a good one. Next on the list….

We have the Volcom t-shirt screening taking place right in front of the Ice Box (our sports shop). They’re just going to be hanging out, soaking up that Cali sun, and giving away FREE t-shirts! First 100 people get a FREE Volcom/Bear Mtn t-shirt, so get there early! Last but not least, KCXX is going to be bringing up Smile Empty Soul to rock out on the ever-so-famous Bear deck. We’re going to be jamming out and watching some crazy skiing, all in our fresh, new Volcom shirts. It’s going to be a lot fun; hurry up and figure out; we’ll be waiting for you!

Mid-Winter March

It’s been a while since our So Cal mountains have had a forecast that holds several days of blue skies but that’s the prediction today and through the weekend! The resorts are 100% open with excellent mid-winter conditions and snow covering every square foot. Come on up and join us today at The Park and make plans for this Saturday night to ride under the lights at Snow Summit one last time for the season from 3:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and College Students get $10 off their night session ticket Saturday.

How’s everyone doing on this fine Wednesday afternoon? Looks like the sun is playing some games with us today. It was bright early, some clouds rolled over for a minute, and now it’s sunny again; it’s fixing to be another great day in Big Bear though. I took some runs early this morning, and boy, the snow is something else! It feels really good to be able to hold an edge in March. The snow usually starts heating up this time of the season, but not this year folks. We’re going to be finishing out the season with some amazing conditions… but we won’t have to think about that for a long while!

Today will be partly cloudy with temps reaching 35. The snow is in excellent shape and with snow conditions like these, you can expect to have a good long spring full of fun riding in The Park. Sunny skies are forecast to return tomorrow and last all the way through at least Sunday, and as the week moves on it will get a little warmer as well. Have fun! All roads are open with no chains required.

Hello all my beautiful Big Bear friends!! Has everyone been enjoying themselves?! I’d sure hope so; the park is amazing and the lift lines are practically non-existent. The runs are wide open giving you the perfect environment to work on all your new moves. We pay a lot of attention to our pro riders and visiting pros, but all of our beginner friends are just as important. We want YOU to be our next local pro and there’s no better time to practice than now. Our features are designed to help you progress. As soon as you master one, there’s going to be another staring you right in the eye. Not only is the park in tip top shape, but our record snow fall this year is making for unreal spring time conditions. We’re riding January snow in March weather. I’d say it’s like a little peace of Heaven, right here in Big Bear, California!

Put the daily grind, responsibilities and obligations on hold for one day and take a little “me” time! Bear Mountain is the perfect escape to insert a little adventure and excitement back into your life!

Big Bear received another light dusting last night making for packed powder conditions. The low pressure system is slowing working its way out of Southern California today and will be clearing up by tomorrow afternoon. Sunny skies and temps in the mid 40’s are expected later this week.

Road Conditions:

All roads are OPEN with no chain requirements. All vehicles including 4WD and AWD must always carry chains when traveling to the mountains during winter months.

Spend Sunday in the Park!!

1/2″ to 1″ of new snow overnight. All runs are open and the snow coverage is excellent! Find out just how many run combinations you can come up with.

All 3 Roads into Big Bear are OPEN.

Hwy 330/18 is OPEN with chains required on all vehicles except 4WD and AWD with snow tires.

Hwy 38 from Redlands, and Hwy 18 thru Lucerne Valley are OPEN with NO chain requirements.

All vehicles including 4-wheel and All-wheel drives must always carry chains when traveling to the mountains during winter months.

Day Session: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Half Day Session: 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Day Session: 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Snow Flurries in Tonight’s Forecast

So the storm from earlier forecasts seems to be breaking up and is expected to bring snow flurries instead, which means we’ll have all weekend long to get in some well deserved riding time. The snow is in excellent shape and all the runs are open. Ride Westridge under the lights! Snow Summit’s night session is scheduled for tonight and the last Saturday night session is March 13th so don’t miss out! Get to Big Bear quicker and avoid alot of the weekend traffic by taking Hwy 38 through Redlands rather than 330 the front way. You can probably catch a glimpse of a few waterfalls that direction too. See you on the snow soon.

Weekend of Fun

Today will be amazing with mostly sunny skies, wide open runs, and all the park features you can handle in one day! If by the end of the day, you still feel the need for more Park riding, head to Snow Summit for the last Friday Night session of the season from 3:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Fresh snowfall is in the forecast for late Saturday afternoon and evening so you’ll be able to get in plenty of fun riding before the bulk of the storm rolls in. Hopefully Sunday we’ll wake up to a few inches of fresh pow so plan ahead and be here early for first tracks!
