Bear Opens Friday But You Can Ride Summit Before Friday

Bear opens this Friday, November 28th! The weather has been perfect for making real snow and we’ve set up some features. If you wanna ride before Friday, come to our other resort as Snow Summit opens tomorrow, November 26th. What!? You have the Bear Only season pass? That’s cool, your pass is good for Summit tomorrow and turkey day. So your plan for this week will go like this… Summit – Wednesday Summit – Thursday Bear – Friday Bear – Saturday Bear – Sunday Lift Hours of Operation: Fri Nov 28 – Sun Nov 30: 8:30-4:00 After this weekend, Bear will close weekdays to prep []

It’s Go Time! Bear Mountains OPENING DAY is scheduled for next weekend. Bear plans to spin the lifts for the public starting at 8:30 am, Friday the 28th of November! As long as we have great snowmaking conditions we can open as planned on Friday! We will be offering early season pricing which will be announced next week…so stay tuned. We will operate from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday! Bear Mountain Woke Up To a Little Extra Snow This Morning!!!!

Mother Nature decided to throw a little surprise our way last night with some snow! It’s beginning to look a lot like winter out there! This can only help our Park Crew as they continue to work tirelessly toward getting this playground open! The forecast is looking pretty good for snowmaking conditions this weekend and into next week. The Snowmaking Plan calls for the system to be operational any time the conditions allow for it! Laying the surface down is just the first step in opening the Resort for riding. Our riders have come to expect a high level of quality []

It’s Friday and Halloween!! It’s going to be a great day! We are expecting our first snow of the season tonight and into tomorrow. How much will we get? No one knows for sure. Do you have a prediction of when we will get our first inch of snowfall? If you do, go on to Twitter and “Tweet” your prediction using #FirstSnowInBigBear. Be specific, all entries must include the date and time. If you guess correctly you could win two lift tickets for opening weekend! Bear is now closed for the winter season

Well Bear Mountain people, it’s that time of the year when we have to say farewell till next season.   We hope to see you around  Big Bear during the spring, summer, and fall.   There are plenty of fun things to do up in the mountains.  Come up to the Snow Summit Bike Park and Scenic Sky Chair on April 19th as we host our very 1st annual Kick-Off Party and hike and bike the day away.  The Bear Mountain Golf Course will open on May 16th one of the most scenic 9-hole course around.   Don’t forget about the 11th annual []
