Bear Mountain is expected to be open Saturday, January 23rd, 2010.

Road Conditions are as follows:

Hwy 330/18 from San Bernardino and Hwy 38 from Redlands are both closed.

Hwy 18 from Lucerne Valley is open with chains required on all vehicles including All-wheel and 4-wheel drives with snow tires.

Please keep in mind road closures and chain requirements are in a constant state of change. You can also text the word NOW to 52406 for current road updates.

More Than A Foot Of Snow

These last couple of storms have left us with just over a foot of new snow this week and more snow is expected over the next couple of days. In addition to snowmaking last night, we received 2″ inches of new snow overnight making for perfect packed powder runs for us all! Come on up and get some freshies this morn!

Fresh Layer Of SNOW(making)!

The snowmaking was good last night and most runs got a fresh new layer of white. Snowmaking looks favorable over the next several nights and there’s talk of natural snow in the forecast early next week. Get in some hill time with mostly sunny skies all the way through Saturday.

Today will be cool and mostly cloudy with moderate winds and a slight chance of snowfall. Thursday and Friday are forecast to be mostly sunny. The snow coverage is excellent and there is a possibility of good snowmaking over the next couple nights too. Bear Mountain will be rolling out various deals throughout the season so make the Specials and Discounts page a favorite!

It’s a little uncertain as to what tomorrow’s weather will bring so let’s just cross our fingers and THINK SNOW! Thursday and Friday are expected to be mostly sunny and the overnight snowmaking looks favorable this week. We’ve had a great start to the New Year with all of these spring-like days on the mountain but back to reality folks! It’s winter and it sounds like there will be many more wintery days to come this month with lots of snowmaking opportunities too!

Hit up The Park and enjoy a unique holiday experience on the snow. Carry on the festivities tonight for Snow Summit Night Session which begins at 3:00pm and closes at 9:30pm. All season pass holders are invited to Snow Summit Night Session including Bear Only season pass holders (Bear Only Pass Holders arrive at 5:00pm please). If you are not a season pass holder yet, not to worrry, Night Session is also budget friendly. Whatever you choose, we are happy to have you spend your Holiday with us in Big Bear!

Happy Holidays from Big Bear Mountain Resorts! Its a white Christmas up in Big Bear: the 6-7″ of natural snow we received in the past 72 hours blanketed our resorts with white sparkling snow. Beautiful machine groomed packed powder conditions and sunny blue skies for the holidays. Snowmaking last night; Snowmaking will continue conditions permitting. All runs are open at both resorts, with terrain available for everyone! Ski and Snowboard lessons are available for all ages and abilities. Hours of Operation for December 24th:

Bear Mountain- 8:00 am – 4:30 pm / Half Day: 12:00 pm – 4:30 pm

Snow Summit- 8:00 am – 5:00 pm / Half Day: 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm. No night session tonight, will resume tomorrow December 25th.

Holiday rates are: Adult (22+): All Day $66, Half Day $56, Young Adult (13-21): All Day $56, Half Day $46, Child (7-12): All Day $29, Half-Day $24, Children 6 yrs and under are free with a paying adult. You can also upgrade your day ticket for Snow Summit’s Night Session.

3 to 4 inches of natural snow fell yesterday and another 3 inches came down last night for a storm total of 6 to 7 inches. Today is a bluebird day and sunny skies are forecast through the Holiday! You can never have too much of a good thing so we’ve also been making snow and snowmaking looks favorable for several days to come. Have a jolly good time on the slopes and enjoy the packed powder conditions! All lifts are available and there’s plenty of terrain and park features for everyone on Santa’s list, Naughty and Nice.

Fresh Snow For The Holidays!

Big Bear is on Santa’s NICE list! A fresh new layer of snow covers the resorts this morning and continued snow showers are forecast throughout the day. Snowmaking also started in the wee hours and it looks like we’ll have a good snowmaking run over the next few days. The snow is in great shape so get on up to the slopes and have some good ol’ holiday fun! All lifts are available and there’s plenty of terrain and park features for beginner to advanced skiers and boarders to enjoy.
