With cooler overnight temperatures we were able to make snow last night. Today Ripcord will open, putting the mountain terrain at a little over 85% open. With overnight lows in the lower 20′s we will continue to make snow at every opportunity. Come celebrate New Year’s Eve with us! we will be having our very own celebration right here at the mountain. Today is the second official day of our Holiday period and holiday rates are in effect. Snow Summit is offering night skiing/snowboarding tonight through January 4th with the exclusion of Christmas Eve (Dec 24th). As of 8:00pm we have received 1-3 inches of snow and it is still snowing. We hope to wake up tomorrow with a powder day in store for you. At this time all roads leading into Big Bear are open with chains required on all vehicles except 4WD with snow tires. It may take you a little extra time to get here in the morning but it is going to be well worth it.
