The first day of War of Rails kicked off with some heavy snowfall and even heavier skiing. Competitors tackled the elements and went on with the contest as if it were a normal sunny day. The course is huge but speed was not an issue and every person in today’s qualifier went all out to try and lock themselves into tomorrow’s final. The temperatures shifted and it has officially started to DUMP snow! With the forecast calling for “heavy” snow throughout the night we can say with confidence that this very well could be the biggest storm of the season! It may take a little extra time traveling to the mountains tonight but hopes are incredibly high that it will be more than worth it! Stay tuned for more updates!

**Snow Summit will be closed for today due to weather, Snow Summit plans to re-open tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. Bear Mountain is open today for normal business hours. The current storm system is providing some moisture right now and with temperatures expected to drop throughout the day forecasts are predicting snow this afternoon through Sunday!
