War Of The Rails Champions!

Sunday, March 14th, 2010

Yesterday, park skier phenom and Bear Mountain local, Craig Coker hosted the 1st annual War Of The Rails in The Scene. We were extremely pleased with the turnout and the event was undoubtedly a HUGE success. The contest featured a women’s and men’s division and was loaded with talent. Among these crowed pleasers was 3 winning ladies and a top 4 in men’s. So with no further ado: THE WINNERS! Men’s 4th: Lard Ellingson, 3rd: John Kutcher, 2nd: Giray Dadali and a well deserved 1st goes to: Tim Russell! Ladies 3rd: Tamera Picciolo, 2nd: Lena Decreucenzo, and 1st goes to: Holly Hind! Thank you to all our participants and congrats to all of our lucky winners. Each competitor brought impressive skills to the table and we look forward to next year!

Ski Comp Today

Saturday, March 13th, 2010

What’s up everyone?! As you all should know by now, there’s going to be a ski comp in a matter of hours. It’s said to start at 1: oo p.m., with practice beginning at noon. If you’ve been by The Scene, you already know it’s going to be a sick contest. There’s some crazy looking features that you wouldn’t expect to see at Bear. From a snowboarder’s perspective, we call them “skier features”. As hard as it is to say, skiers go bigger then snowboarders, so they need bigger features. We give a lot of attention to the new wave of snowboarders, but we still love our skiers. It’s definitely going to be a fun event to watch; it’s always fun to check out something new. We haven’t hosted a ski comp in a while, but we’re stoked to be apart of the sport!
