With cooler overnight temperatures we were able to make snow last night. Today Ripcord will open, putting the mountain terrain at a little over 85% open. With overnight lows in the lower 20′s we will continue to make snow at every opportunity. Come celebrate New Year’s Eve with us! we will be having our very own celebration right here at the mountain. As of 8:00pm we have received 1-3 inches of snow and it is still snowing. We hope to wake up tomorrow with a powder day in store for you. At this time all roads leading into Big Bear are open with chains required on all vehicles except 4WD with snow tires. It may take you a little extra time to get here in the morning but it is going to be well worth it. Park Run Face received a good amount of snowmaking this week and now both hips in powder bowl are open! Skip the jibs in the gulch for some air time on Park Run. The Red Bull Plaza has also opened up more features and a smaller jump line was built on lower park run. Today we opened Rip’s Run. Next to open is Hidden Valley, Amusement Park, and Central Park. Forecast is calling for sunny blue sky’s for the remainder of the week, with 3-4 inches of new snow and 80+ hours of snowmaking Park Crew should be able to out-do themselves once again!
