It’s been coming down since 9 am and it looks great up here. It looks like much of the same for Monday. This current storm will move along to be replaced by another system hitting our mountains by Monday night. Best case, glass is half full scenario, up to 2 feet of snow in some parts. We received 12-14 inches of so far and its not done yet! The storm is forecast to last the rest of today and into tomorrow, then clearing up for a fun powdery weekend! Remember that Snow Summit’s final night session of the 2012/13 season will be tomorrow, March 9th. There is no night session tonight. This weekend is also the Transworld TransAM 8th and last stop in the competition before finals! Remember to change your clocks this Sunday for Daylights Savings Time. We’ll be springing forward with new operating hours.

Good news Boy Scouts! Scout Merit Badge Day is coming back to Bear Mountain Saturday, March 10, 2012. Discounted lift tickets, lessons, and rentals will give your Scouts the opportunity to join in, and demonstrate portions of skiing or snowboarding with our winter sports counselors. This is the perfect opportunity for any Scouts working towards earning their Snow Sports Merit Badge. There is not a minimum requirement of participants to qualify for this event.
