It Snowed All Day And Still Going

It’s been coming down since 9 am and it looks great up here. It looks like much of the same for Monday. This current storm will move along to be replaced by another system hitting our mountains by Monday night. Best case, glass is half full scenario, up to 2 feet of snow in some parts. More terrain, more open trails, more features than any other resort in SoCal and now more snow, Bear is definitely the place to be. It’s the place Boy Scouts of America (BSA) chose to have their Scout Day. BSA is one of the largest []

Forecast is Snow Day X4

Here’s the forecast thumbnail: Saturday – Snow Sunday – Snow Monday – Snow Tuesday – Snow Whoever you are, thanks for washing your car everyday. Four to five days of snow? Are you kidding me? It’s the set-up for a Bear trifecta. Trifecta /traɪˈfɛktə/; any achievement involving three successful outcomes [Dictionary.com] First of three events is to set the stage for the trifecta. That stage is a snowy mountain, dumped-on and covered. The storm on the way will bring us another blanket over our 12-24” base. Can you feel the powder days getting closer? Second of three events is the []

8 to 12 Inches of New Snow Expected

The weather decided to cooperate and waited until the event was over, to really start snowing. According to the National Weather Service, snow will become heavier and steadier overnight we’re expecting new snow accumulation of 8 to 12 inches or more above 6000 feet. If you’re savvy, you []

They rely on the little well water that’s available and often times will limit their snowmaking which leads to fewer open trails or even early closure. Good thing we are in Big Bear, it’s different here. One huge difference is the water supply. Water is one of the main ingredients in real snow and []

Join us on Sunday for the Snowed In Concert

On Sunday Power 106 will be here and they are hosting their annual party starting at 10am. Musical guest’s Flo-Rida, Jordin Sparks & Liane V start their magic at noon. This one time you will want to get “Snowed In”. The concert is FREE to all ticket holders, so take advantage of a day on the deck. We have more open terrain than any other SoCal resort that is still open. Why have we been able to stay open while others have had to close? Well that’s all thanks to our World Class Snow Making System, our tireless snow makers and []
