Good Morning! Bear Opens at 8:30 am to 8-11″ of Fresh Snow with Chairs 1 & 9!!!

It’s going to be a great day at Bear Mountain! We received 8-11″ of natural snow from yesterday’s storm! Riders will find a surface of machine groomed, packed powder and/or powder this morning. Though coverage is good, early season conditions do still exist. Please use caution when skiing or riding near trail edges- as always ski and ride with care! Skiers and riders may also find our snowmaking system operational on OPEN trails throughout the day today. Enjoy!

An Eventful Day of Snowfall!

What a pleasant surprise this storm has brought! We’re now at 8-11 inches of natural snowfall and we’re ready to start snowmaking as soon as we get a chance! Be sure to join us this weekend and if you’re traveling through the mountain area you’ll want to keep up with our Snow Report for all the latest updates including road conditions! Who else is stoked to shred freshies tomorrow?!

The Snow Gods Have Heard Your Prayers!

The snow started to fall from the sky this morning and is continuing to snow as the day continues… It’s panning out to be much more substantial of a storm than originally thought. We are expecting up to a foot of natural snow by tomorrow morning which is great news for all you boarders and skiers out there! You can expect conditions of fresh powder and packed powder and with the cold weather that is behind this storm you can also expect more snowmaking in the forecast. Bear will be open tomorrow at 8:30, but if you want to ride before then []

War of Rails & Fresh Snow!

We have received 8″ to 10″ of fresh snow over night and it’s still coming down! This is the best storm we’ve had all season. It may take a little extra time traveling to the mountains today but it will be more than worth it! Don’t forget your tire chains, they are required on all vehicles except those with 4wd and awd with snow tires on highways 18 and 38. Highway 330/18 the front way is closed but plans to reopen this morning. Check CalTrans for the latest road information. The worlds biggest ski rail jam starts today after a weather hold yesterday. Storm System Rolling Through

Cold weather has hit Big Bear and we are taking full advantage of these great snowmaking conditions. Our system has been making snow for over 24 hours now and we plan to continue as long as conditions permit. Snowmaking plus the 3-4 inches of fresh snow we received yesterday means more runs and features! At this time all roads are open, for chain restriction information visit our snow report or Caltrans website.   We now have Chair 4 open accessing Exhibition and next on our list is the Halfpipe and Showtime. If you haven’t seen the park lately there has []
