Bear Is Open This Weekend

Bear is open this weekend. Chairs 4 & 9 are open accessing The Park run, Central Park, Gambler, Exhibition, and more! It’s been an incredible El Nino winter with 12-feet of natural snowfall so far this season. The snow coverage is excellent and these So Cal spring conditions are great! Snow Summit will be open daily though Sunday April 25th, 2010. Tomorrow, Sunday April 18th is Bear Mountain’s last day of the season however; Bear Season Passes are valid at Snow Summit. The type of season pass still applies to the Snow Summit offer. Come on up and experience one of the best ski and snowboard season Big Bear has seen in a long time! And while you’re up here head over to Ego Trip Super Park and Westridge all next week at Summit, it’s legit.

While Bear Mountain may not be operating midweek, Snow Summit is! With 100% of the mountain still wide open, in addition to the 4-5 inches of fresh fluffy pow Big Bear received on monday, the time is NOW to come up and discover the goods at Snow Summit. Whatever your preference may be, you might be surprised that Snow Summit delivers on all fronts.

For your park rats, Westridge has it all. The jibs, the jumps, and everything in between. Or go check out the Ego Trip Superpark. Huge features meticulously maintained for your shredding pleasure. If you are a Geronimo fan, look no further than Snow Summit’s chair 6 and black diamond runs: The Wall, Olympic, and Off chute. Even if your preference is to just cruise, Snow Summit has 31 trails offering varied terrain and amazing views over the Big Bear Valley.

Bear Mountain’s operating hours for this Saturday and Sunday will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Due to business winding down, Bear Mountain will not operate midweek but will be open on weekends! Bear Mountain Season Passes are valid at Snow Summit. The type of season pass still applies to the Snow Summit offer. Snow Summit will be open through at least April 18th and possibly longer with 100% open terrain. Head to Summit today and get in some fresh pow turns! El Nino hasn’t given up yet. It began snowing early this morning with 3 inches of fresh powder so far, and it’s expected to snow several more inches today and possibly up to a foot. With all of this new snow and below average temperatures this week, the snow conditions will be excellent.

Still Plenty-O-Time to Ride

It’s been a plentiful El Nino winter which has set us up for some pretty amazing spring riding! Come on up and fulfill your Park fantasies at not one but TWO parks! Bear Mountain will be open everyday through April 11th then open weekends only beginning April 17th. Bear Mountain Season Passes are valid at Snow Summit from April 12th thru the end of the 09/10 winter season. The type of season pass still applies to the Snow Summit offer. Take advantage of Ego Trip SuperPark which is HUGE right now. It starts off with a Paparazzi hip which is eye level with chair lift riders, next is the 20 ft hand carved quarterpipe, tonight the wall ride will be replaced with the pole jam and further down will be a new step-down, hit the Bunny Ears and end on Ego Trip’s banana hip which puts you right into the big green tube. So enjoy your spring time at Bear and at Summit!

Ego Trip SuperPark at Snow Summit

As you all may already know, Ms. Superpark was at Summit about a week ago. This is an event in which snowboarding’s top women riders come session a park for a Snowboarder Magazine story. Long story short, we left the majority of the set up and tweaked it a bit, but most importantly it’s open for you! It is a lot different from what you’re used to seeing at either Bear or Summit, so it’s definitely worth checking out. There’s a couple hips, and nice jump, a perfect street style down rail, a pole jam, and some other features that you’ll have to come to Summit to see.

For all you Bear only pass holders, this Monday, April 12, Bear passes will be good at Summit! The type of season pass still applies to the Snow Summit offer. Season Pass holders will still need to comply with the days their passes are valid. For example: For Bear Only Midweek Pass Holders they are valid at Snow Summit Monday – Friday, and Bear Only Midweek plus Sunday will be valid at Summit everyday except Saturday. And so on and so on. There’s a lot going on over there; you’ll definitely be pumped!

What an awesome April we have planned up here at Bear Mountain. There is soo much snow still, and the sunny days and warm temps make for a great time on the snow. Both Bear Mountain and Snow Summit are still 100% OPEN, offering snowboarders and skiers the most available terrain in Southern California! In addition, you can access all this amazing available terrain with one only 1 area use lift ticket!

Spring Schedule Update- Bear Mountain will be open everyday through April 11th then open weekends only, beginning April 17th. ALL Bear Mountain Season Passes are valid at Snow Summit April 12th thru the end of the 09/10 winter season. Snow Summit will be open through at least April 18th and possibly longer!

Well, it’s April, and we’re still looking at the best spring conditions in years! It’s been a wild season, with a lot of snowfall. Today, we’re looking at a 50 degree day and bright blue skies, and it’s a lot of the same for the rest of the week. We’re enjoying a beautiful spring up here, but it just isn’t as fun without you! Come on up and join us for some April sun and guaranteed fun!
