Got snow? We do, and plenty of it! Despite the lack of snow in other California regions, Big Bear Mountain Resorts has been fortunate with snowmaking and early season snowfalls providing snow depths of 1-3 feet, very good snow coverage and nearly 100% open runs- that’s almost 438 rideable acres! Beat the heat and head up here to Bear where we have been making snow recent nights and the snow conditions are better than you might think. Enjoy the wide open runs and the most terrain park features in So Cal. Next night sessions at Snow Summit are this Friday and Saturday beginning at 3pm til 9:30pm

Big news! We expect to have both the resorts nearly 100% open by….. tomorrow!! Yep, Geronimo will be waiting for you; we hope you can make it. We’ve also been undergoing nightly changes to the park including the Skill Builder Park, Central Park, and Park Run.

With the holiday season coming up and having So Cal’s best skiing and riding conditions, we recommend planning your trip and reserving your tickets online HERE. This is the year to be a So Cal snow ethusiast, so take advantage of it! We love taking pics and showing them off, but it’s the experience that we want to share; so come on up and have some fun, you earned this.

Park Up-Date 11/10

TOP to BOTTOM opening week; there is your up-date! Just kidding, but that is our favorite part. Hitting jibs is fun, but hitting jibs the entire run is way more fun. We have 22 jibs and 10 snow features right now and they are not your typical opening week features. We have 7 down rails set up perfect skate style, a bunch of kickers that will get you up there, and a list of of other jibs that you will just have to come and see. Everyone seems to be real stoked on all the down rails right now. There are so many of them that you can learn a trick every run. The flow is on point as well. There are plenty of jibs, but there is also some good cruisn’ room which is perfect for getting your feet back. We will also have Chair 7 and Inspiration opening tomorrow for all our eager beginners. It’s go time now my friends! If you’re not here now, you’re missing out!

Bear is Open For Winter 2011-12

For those of you who made it past day one, we are onto day two! Looking at the park, it’s hard to believe we have only been open for one day. Park Run is stacked with jibs and the vibe is kicking like we didn’t even have a summer. It’s funny how quickly we go from lounging around the house to full force snowboard mode, but that’s what makes these days so special. It feels good to be back and actually do what we’ve been dreaming about for the past six months. Not to mention doing it all in a TOP to BOTTOM park on opening week! Park staff has us all geeked up; if this is what it’s like the first couple days, imagine what it will be like in a month or even a few weeks! They have a collaboration of great minds on Park Staff, and the anticipation of their plans is hardly BEARable. Happy shredding kids!

Happy Opening Day

Welcome back everyone! Feels good; doesn’t it? We don’t have too much to say today because we are going to let The People’s Park do the talking! So get out there and see what we have; you’ll love it! Chair 9/Park Run is stacked TOP to BOTTOM with all sorts of jibs and features, and the Beach Bar will be serving cold ones for those of you who need some extra help getting back into it. Also, be sure to look out for DJ Slip Matt at the bottom of 9. He will be stirring up some beats and giving away a bunch of schwag. Tomorrow, Tomorrow! It’s Only A Day Away…

Yep, Opening Day is tomorrow my friends! We can finally put the summer behind us and prepare ourselves for the best season our lives! We’re up here feeling like a bunch of little kids on Christmas Eve; just waiting for the clock to strike the A.M. It’s going to be hard to sleep tonight, but Park Staff sure won’t have that problem because they don’t get to sleep tonight. They will be up all night building features and setting jibs. Tomorrow, when you get here at 8:30, we will have a TOP to BOTTOM park waiting for you to shred.

It’s hard to believe because it came so quick, but tomorrow is the day! We look forward to seeing all your smiling faces again and we cannot wait to get you back in The People’s Park!

Winter 2011-12 Opening Day?

Snow season is just around the corner! We’re experiencing cold overnight temps, but the days are still too warm for snowmaking. We still haven’t set an opening date, but we’ll be testing the snowmaking lines soon and we’ll keep you posted as we get more info. Our ski and snowboard season usually starts mid November and lasts all the way into April so go ahead and start counting down the days until opening day. We’ll email you the exact date as we get closer to winter 2011-12. Subscribe today for our daily email snow report.

The Day of all Days!

Well, if you’ve been up today, there really is not much to say besides, “HOLY MOLY.” Am I right? How much fun is it out there? I mean we have jumps, we have quater pipes, we have a 100 foot rail, we have beginner boxes, we have everything! No matter if it’s your first time or your a seasoned vet, this opening is going to blow your mind. The park is amazing and the vibe is even better. There are no frowning faces on an opening day, especially one like this! It was a treat this morning to watch everyone get on the lift with grins from ear to ear; I don’t think there was a set of hidden teeth on the mountain. We’re so happy everyone is so stoked and we can’t wait for another great season!

We Can’t Wait! Can You?

Well my friends, we’re back in action!! As of 11 am this morning, we’re looking at 3-4 inches of fresh, new snow and it’s still coming down. Not only are we expecting a little more natural snow, we have our state of the art snow guns blasting in full force. It really is shaping up to be a holiday that we can all be thankful for. I know you are all wondering what the haps is going to be this Wednesday, so I’ll let you in on a couple tid bits. We’re expecting to open chair 9, top to bottom, oh yeah!! Park Run and Central Park are going to be stacked with jibs and snow features all set by your favorite Southern Californian park staff. We’re also going to be doing night sessions this Friday and Saturday at Snow Summit, so there won’t be a shortage of fun this holiday weekend. As of Thursday, tickets will go to the regular season rates; $56 for adults, $46 for young adults, $25 for children (7-12). If you opted not to get a season pass this year, we recommend making reservations to ensure a full filled holiday trip. You can do so by calling 909-866-5841 or by visiting us at bearmtn.com.

We are only a few days away so get those boards waxed and those smiles ready; it’s going to be another great year!
