For those of you who made it past day one, we are onto day two! Looking at the park, it’s hard to believe we have only been open for one day. Park Run is stacked with jibs and the vibe is kicking like we didn’t even have a summer. It’s funny how quickly we go from lounging around the house to full force snowboard mode, but that’s what makes these days so special. It feels good to be back and actually do what we’ve been dreaming about for the past six months. Not to mention doing it all in a TOP to BOTTOM park on opening week! Park staff has us all geeked up; if this is what it’s like the first couple days, imagine what it will be like in a month or even a few weeks! They have a collaboration of great minds on Park Staff, and the anticipation of their plans is hardly BEARable. Happy shredding kids!

We expect to open Bear for the winter season midweek this week. As always we want to wait until we have a great snowbase and quality snow for you to enjoy, and we will make snow at every opportunity to make that happen. Park Run is first on the list to open and there will be features set-up so hurry up and get your season pass this weekend at Summit’s Season pass office open until 3pm today and 9am-1pm tomorrow. See you SOOOOON!

Winter 2011-12 Opening Day?

Snow season is just around the corner! We’re experiencing cold overnight temps, but the days are still too warm for snowmaking. We still haven’t set an opening date, but we’ll be testing the snowmaking lines soon and we’ll keep you posted as we get more info. Our ski and snowboard season usually starts mid November and lasts all the way into April so go ahead and start counting down the days until opening day. We’ll email you the exact date as we get closer to winter 2011-12. Subscribe today for our daily email snow report.

The Day of all Days!

Well, if you’ve been up today, there really is not much to say besides, “HOLY MOLY.” Am I right? How much fun is it out there? I mean we have jumps, we have quater pipes, we have a 100 foot rail, we have beginner boxes, we have everything! No matter if it’s your first time or your a seasoned vet, this opening is going to blow your mind. The park is amazing and the vibe is even better. There are no frowning faces on an opening day, especially one like this! It was a treat this morning to watch everyone get on the lift with grins from ear to ear; I don’t think there was a set of hidden teeth on the mountain. We’re so happy everyone is so stoked and we can’t wait for another great season!

With the natural snowfall early this week and hours and hours of snowmaking, The People’s Park is shaping up for a quality opening day tomorrow! The snow is going to be sooo much fun, so far there are about 20 features including jumps, rails boxes and a few surprises! Chair 9- Park Run and Chair 7 Inspiration will open in the morning 8:30 and won’t close til 4pm. Early season rates are still in effect tomorrow so that’s $40 for adults, $35 for young adults and $15 for children.

Yesterday’s storm gave our Park Builders the ammo they need to setup for an awesome opening day. Are you ready? Make your reservations online today. All 3 roads into Big Bear are open. Chains are required on Hwy 330/18 the front way on all vehicles except 4 wheel drive and all wheel drive vehicles with snow tires. Chains are not required on Hwy 38 through Redlands or Hwy 18 through Lucerne Valley until you reach Big Bear City. Check back soon for updated road conditions. Were looking at a fun day out on the snow a Snow Summit with a slight chance of snow and a high of 33.

We Can’t Wait! Can You?

Well my friends, we’re back in action!! As of 11 am this morning, we’re looking at 3-4 inches of fresh, new snow and it’s still coming down. Not only are we expecting a little more natural snow, we have our state of the art snow guns blasting in full force. It really is shaping up to be a holiday that we can all be thankful for. I know you are all wondering what the haps is going to be this Wednesday, so I’ll let you in on a couple tid bits. We’re expecting to open chair 9, top to bottom, oh yeah!! Park Run and Central Park are going to be stacked with jibs and snow features all set by your favorite Southern Californian park staff. We’re also going to be doing night sessions this Friday and Saturday at Snow Summit, so there won’t be a shortage of fun this holiday weekend. As of Thursday, tickets will go to the regular season rates; $56 for adults, $46 for young adults, $25 for children (7-12). If you opted not to get a season pass this year, we recommend making reservations to ensure a full filled holiday trip. You can do so by calling 909-866-5841 or by visiting us at bearmtn.com.

We are only a few days away so get those boards waxed and those smiles ready; it’s going to be another great year!

Bear Mountain opens on November 24^th right in time for some solid days of Thanksgiving holiday riding. The Terrain Park staff is busy building rails, boxes, jibs and jumps for your first day on the mountain. Will you be there on opening day?

Bear Mountain’s Opening Day will be Wednesday, November 24! The mountain will be full of rails, boxes, jumps, jibs and everything you have come to expect from a world class freestyle riding resort. The mountain will be open throughout the Thanksgiving holiday weekend so come out, stay out and ride for days!

What’s New at Bear

Well we had some good snowmaking weather last week and then it vanished! There looks like there could be another snowmaking window late this week into next so cross your fingers for Bear to open soon! Park Staff is still working looooong hours to get the mountain ready for you. In fact the new SkullCandy feature, which by the way- plays its own tunes, will be placed on the mountain sometime this week. It won’t be long before you’ll be riding Bear, but until then you can hit the features on Miracle Mile at Summit. Tickets are at a discounted rate and your Bear Only season pass is valid at Snow Summit right now!
