8 to 12 Inches of New Snow Expected

USASA started the day at Powder Bowl for the Boardercross competition. People came from all over to compete today, a few from Mammoth, some from Tahoe, LA, OC, and our surrounding areas. KPWR hosted the annual “Snowed In” event on the deck with Flo Rida and winner of American Idol, Jordin Sparks. The weather decided to cooperate and waited until the event was over, to really start snowing. It’s Different in Big Bear

  “And another one gone, and another one gone, another one bites the dust.” – Queen We heard that another resort outside of Big Bear closed recently. That’s the second one to close early in the season and when that happened, we were sad about it too. They rely on the little well water that’s available and often times will limit their snowmaking which leads to fewer open trails or even early closure. New Park, Air Bag & Sean Kingston!

Park Crew has out done themselves yet again with a new park that is ridiculously fun. Lower Park run is all new with a double jump line, Pole Jam and set-up jump! This weekend Dos Equis will be bringing an Air Bag here to Bear Mountain. Those who are 21 and over may sign up throughout the weekend to try some wild moves off the huge kicker we have built for this event. Big Day at Bear!

We have a big day for you today! First thing you need to do is get up there early and get some cruisers in on the fresh corduroy. Once you got your feet under you and your fix fulfilled, check out the Never Summer tent down at base camp. They have a ton of different boards for you to try out. There is a lot of new technology in snowboards these days, and this is a perfect way to see and feel what it all is. We have another beautiful day to look forward to today. We’re looking at mostly sunny skies and a high of around 55 degrees.
