Chance of Snow Today

We’ve been making real snow all night and there’s a 30% chance that mother nature might bless us with more snow this afternoon. It’s gonna be a good week for the white stuff. CalTrans reports significant delays and closures on Highway 18, so plan your drive accordingly. Always carry snow chains when traveling through mountain areas. Like they say in Cub Scouts, “Always be prepared.” Ticket windows and rentals shops open at 8:30 am. Lift operations will starts at 9 am. The recent storm added to the base, making it 10-20″. After running outside this morning to check the conditions, expect machine-groomed hard []

You can expect conditions of fresh powder and packed powder and with the cold weather that is behind this storm you can also expect more snowmaking in the forecast. Bear will be open tomorrow at 8:30, but if you want to ride before then []

It’s About Time!

It’s hard to believe the first storm of the season hit us yesterday and only brought us 2 inches! We have been lucky in many ways and have remained nearly unaffected by the snow drought. Sure we’d lovvveeee more snow (pow turns and tree riding? Yes, please) but our snowmaking and park crew have been killing it when it comes to keeping the coverage in the park good and the features on point. This recent snowstorm brought us only a few inches but it sure has been enough to really amp up the coverage to midwinter conditions and brought with []
