The snow started to fall from the sky this morning and is continuing to snow as the day continues… It’s panning out to be much more substantial of a storm than originally thought. We are expecting up to a foot of natural snow by tomorrow morning which is great news for all you boarders and skiers out there! It’s hard to believe the first storm of the season hit us yesterday and only brought us 2 inches! We have been lucky in many ways and have remained nearly unaffected by the snow drought. Sure we’d lovvveeee more snow (pow turns and tree riding? Yes, please) but our snowmaking and park crew have been killing it when it comes to keeping the coverage in the park good and the features on point. After Friday’s 12-14 inches of fresh snow, we’re ready for another great day at Bear! Temps are a little warmer today with a high of 45, making for great shred weather. All roads are open and clear, the sun is out and the park is stacked. Plus we have the best snow conditions in SoCal, so what more could you ask for on your Sunday Funday? Transworld TransAm is a wrap, but we’re still in competition mode with USASA’s Halfpipe event today. Remember that Daylight Savings starts today and so do our new operating hours. Lifts open at 8:30am today!
Old Man Winter might be dropping in on Big Bear this week with a chance of snow today through Friday night. Skies are forecast to clear out by Saturday, providing excellent conditions for all you Weekend Warriors. Keep checking the forecast while you’re making plans to be here this weekend.
