8 to 12 Inches of New Snow Expected

USASA started the day at Powder Bowl for the Boardercross competition. People came from all over to compete today, a few from Mammoth, some from Tahoe, LA, OC, and our surrounding areas. KPWR hosted the annual “Snowed In” event on the deck with Flo Rida and winner of American Idol, Jordin Sparks. The weather decided to cooperate and waited until the event was over, to really start snowing. There Is A Storm In Today’s Forecast- And Lots Of Fun…

The Weather Service has reassessed overnight and we are now looking at predictions of snow starting this afternoon and snowing through Tuesday with accumulations of 3 to 7 inches in the base area and more on the summits. So… It’s on its way, what to do today? The destination for this weekend is the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. It’s the same stadium where the Rose Bowl game is traditionally played on New Year’s Day. It’s Different in Big Bear

  “And another one gone, and another one gone, another one bites the dust.” – Queen We heard that another resort outside of Big Bear closed recently. That’s the second one to close early in the season and when that happened, we were sad about it too. They rely on the little well water that’s available and often times will limit their snowmaking which leads to fewer open trails or even early closure. Air + Style: DAY ONE

The 21st annual Air and Style Event stars today at the Pasadena Rose Bowl. There will be two nights of competition and music with 18 bands including acts like Kendrick Lamar, Steve Aoki, Diplo, The Flaming Lips and more. There’s a lot going on this weekend and you don’t want to miss any part of it. By planing ahead you can get the most out of your weekend and save money on lift tickets. Here are the details: This is the last weekend for the Dos Equis Air Bag. Participants must be 21 and over with a valid ID, helmet, and a lift ticket.
