It’s snowing! We knew it would come around- it is winter after all. Today’s forecast is calling for several inches of white stuff. As you know, Bear Mountain has had great riding this season with a deep snow base, all lifts available and nearly every run open. The natural snow will freshen the surface and make for great skiing and riding. If you aren’t here today we’ll be expecting you tomorrow for sunny skies and freshies!

Despite the lack of snow in other California regions, Big Bear Mountain Resorts has been fortunate with snowmaking and early season snowfalls providing snow depths of 1-3 feet, very good snow coverage and nearly 100% open runs- that’s almost 438 rideable acres! We are on the path to possibly our best season of all time! The park is already starting to surpass our years past set-ups, and it’s only the beginning of December. There are jibs, jumps, rails, boxes and so much more spread across the entire mountain with something for everyone. You definitely have to try out the Skill Builder features over on Chair 6 where we have a bunch of beginner boxes, rollers and jumps that are perfect for anyone looking to learn the basics of freestyle snowboarding. Welcome to the best snow in Southern California! Our last storm left us with 14-16 inches of fresh snow and excellent snowmaking conditions. We got so much snow that we can open more runs today!
