It’s Different in Big Bear

  “And another one gone, and another one gone, another one bites the dust.” – Queen We heard that another resort outside of Big Bear closed recently. That’s the second one to close early in the season and when that happened, we were sad about it too. They rely on the little well water that’s available and often times will limit their snowmaking which leads to fewer open trails or even early closure. Good thing we are in Big Bear, it’s different here. One huge difference is the water supply. Water is one of the main ingredients in real snow and []


Powder Bowl Sunday

Our base depth is 8-24″ on top of that we received 5 inches of new snow in the last 48 hours. You’ll be riding under sunny skies and mild temperatures. Volcom’s Peanut Butter and Rail Jam competition took over The Scene yesterday and the same features are detailed and open for you to hit today. When it comes to preparing for Super Bowl, some will decorate the house, some will rock the team jersey, we get into the zone with the first annual Powder Bowl. Long Weekend With Lots of Activities

Burton Mountain Festival starts on Saturday. Take advantage of this weekends festivities! The Burton Girls will be here, you can enjoy DJ’s, take your little ones through Riglet Park, enjoy on-snow demos from Burton and get in the mix with the contests to win free swag! …and then there’s always our mountain for you to ride of course. Three nights of night sessions start at Snow Summit tomorrow. Take your Bear lift ticket over to Summit between 3-9:30 for a low-cost upgrade and stay on the slopes even longer! Sunday Funday is Coming!

Tomorrow is #SundayFunday, but this whole weekend has been the most fun we’ve had in years! We’ve got Geronimo open for the first time since Winter 12/13 along with our 13 ft Half Pipe! All lifts are running and the mountain is nearly 100% open…it’s time to head on up! When you’re done at Bear today, you can take your lift ticket over to Summit for a ticket upgrade on a night session. It’s the last night session of the weekend and it goes until 9:30.
